Storepass keeps periodic product and database snapshots so product data can be recovered when inventory, catalog, pricing, or listing records are changed unexpectedly. Stores use this process when a bulk update, import, integration sync, or manual edit needs to be reviewed or rolled back.
Backups are designed for recovery work with Storepass support. They can help restore products and related data, compare current records against an earlier point in time, or rebuild affected fields using Storepass recovery tools.
- Recover product, variant, inventory, catalog, and pricing data when a supported snapshot is available.
- Compare current product records against historical snapshots before deciding what to restore.
- Use Storepass recovery scripts and tools to target only the affected products or fields.
Before starting
- Identify the issue: Note what changed, when it changed, and which products, product lines, locations, or integrations were affected.
- Stop repeated changes: Pause the import, sync, scheduled job, or manual workflow that is still changing the data.
- Gather examples: Save product IDs, SKUs, URLs, screenshots, import files, or task names that show the problem clearly.
Recovery is based on available snapshots and the affected data model. Storepass support will confirm what can be restored before applying changes.
Request recovery
- Open a Storepass support ticket and include the affected store, product line, and approximate time the problem started.
- List the product IDs, SKUs, handles, or search filters that define the affected products.
- Describe what should be recovered, such as inventory quantities, product titles, variants, pricing fields, images, tags, or catalog data.
- Attach any related import files, task links, or screenshots that help support reproduce the issue.
Review options
- Compare only: Storepass can inspect a snapshot and report what changed before anything is restored.
- Targeted restore: Storepass can recover selected products, fields, product lines, or time ranges when the data can be isolated safely.
- Scripted repair: Storepass can use recovery scripts to rebuild affected data from snapshots and current records.
After recovery
- Review the recovered products in Storepass and on the connected ecommerce platform.
- Confirm inventory quantities, variants, pricing, tags, images, and product status for a sample of affected items.
- Restart paused imports, syncs, or scheduled jobs only after the recovered data has been checked.
Do not re-run the original import, bulk edit, or sync until support confirms it will not overwrite the recovered data.
