Use a Storepass PIN when staff need to switch between user accounts inside Point of Sale. The PIN is saved on the currently signed-in Storepass user account.
Each staff member who will use PIN-based account switching should sign in as themselves and set their own four-digit PIN from Account > Set Pin.
- Set a four-digit PIN for the current Storepass user.
- Use the PIN later when switching staff accounts in Point of Sale.
- Update the PIN by returning to the same page and saving a new one.
Before starting
- Sign in as the staff member who needs the PIN.
- Make sure the user is connected to the correct store.
- Choose a four-digit PIN the staff member can remember.
Set the PIN
- Go to Account > Set Pin.
- Enter the four-digit PIN in PIN.
- Enter the same four-digit PIN in Confirm PIN.
- Click Set PIN.
- Wait for the success message.
The PIN and confirmation must match. Storepass only accepts four characters in the PIN fields.
Use in Point of Sale
- Open Point of Sale.
- Use the staff account switcher in the POS header.
- Select the staff member account.
- Enter that staff member's four-digit PIN.
- Confirm the switch before continuing the sale.
Review
- PIN does not work: Have the staff member sign in to Storepass and set the PIN again from Account > Set Pin.
- Wrong staff member is selected: Switch accounts again before completing the POS transaction.
- Staff member is missing from POS: Review their staff account and Point of Sale permission in Account > Staff.
