Custom buylists let you accept product categories that Storepass does not directly model as a built-in trading-card product line. Common examples include bulk, miniatures, video games, books, accessories, or any products you want to route through a buylist-style workflow.
A custom buylist is created as a custom product line. After it exists, you decide which ecommerce products qualify for it and how those products should be priced.
- Custom product line: the customer-facing category on the buylist.
- Matching rules: product type, tags, excluded tags, or SKU prefix rules that decide which products appear.
- Pricing: manual or rule-based cash and credit offers for the products in that custom line.
Before starting
- Decide the exact customer-facing category name, such as Bulk, Miniatures, or Video Games.
- Create or identify matching products in Shopify or BigCommerce.
- Make sure those products have a consistent product type, tag, category, or SKU prefix that Storepass can use for matching.
- Decide whether the custom product line should use fixed prices, manual prices, or percentage-based rules.
Enable
- Open Buylist Settings.
- On the Product Lines tab, choose Custom from Add Product Line.
- Enter the product line name.
- Click Add.
- Keep the product line hidden while you configure it.
Configure
- Open the new custom product line from the product-line table.
- Set the product matching fields, such as Shopify Product Type, Shopify Tags, Exclude Shopify Tags, or Start Of SKU.
- Review Product Grades and remove or rename conditions that do not apply.
- Set a product-line minimum offer threshold if low-value products should be excluded.
- Save your settings.
Price
- Open Buylist Pricing Rules if the custom product line should use automated pricing.
- Select the custom product line.
- Set the default rule or add rule sets for specific products.
- Use fixed prices when you want exact buy prices for the custom category.
- Run Refresh Offer Prices from Products > All after saving rules.
Use
- Open the Buylist in staff mode.
- Select the custom product line and confirm the correct products appear.
- Add a test item to the cart and submit a test buylist.
- When everything looks correct, return to Buylist Settings and turn off Is Hidden.
A custom product line does not create the ecommerce products for you. The products still need to exist in your store and match the custom line's filters before customers can find them on the buylist.
